Michael J. Baxter, CCIM, has nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience. His claim to the title of the Poconos’ first Commercial Specialist is strengthened by the fact that he has NEVER sold a single-family residential property. His experience is strictly commercial.
Michael cut his real estate teeth in the early 80s at a number of smaller Pocono real estate firms before moving on to work for Phyllis Rubin at Coldwell Banker. His skill quickly showed and he was the company’s top producer every year from 1989 through 1997, a period that included his appointment as Director for the Commercial Division.
Having reached his pinnacle with Coldwell Banker, Michael needed new challenges. With a vision for what a commercial real estate company could be, in 1998 he made the bold move to open his own company, Michael Baxter & Associates Commercial Real Estate.
His vision for a better way to handle commercial real estate was centered on high ethical standards and a commitment to continuous training and improvement. The MB&A team participates in weekly sales training sessions, where they learn advanced Commercial Real Estate concepts. It is a standard unmatched in the Pocono region.
Michael Baxter’s individual sales production continues to lead the field, even as he oversees the day to day operations of the sales force.
He has vast experience in general commercial real estate, investment analysis, lease vs. own analysis, tenant representation, landlord representation, and commercial market value analysis. Michael was also the first in Monroe County to receive the prestigious CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation, often referred to as the Ph.D of Commercial Real Estate.
In addition to his role as Broker/Owner of Michael Baxter & Associates Commercial Real Estate and Property Management, Michael serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Pocono Mountains Economic Development Corporation directing; Pocono Mountains Industries, The Monroe County Industrial Development Authority and The Pocono Mountains Industrial Park Authority; the boards of Penn’s Northeast, a regional economic development marketing cooperative, and Wayne Bank; and he is frequently asked by the local courts to assist in matters concerning commercial real estate assets.
Michael was named the “2008 Businessperson of Year” at the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce annual banquet.
